Matt and Anne had their baby yesterday. A girl. Congratulations.
And of course, they moved right to the front of the suck-up line by naming her after mom. Well-halfway. Middle names don't really count. First names, that's the real honor.
Well, we're not about to be outdone by a bunch of younger siblings...
So we bought a hamster today and it's name is Judy. Not the middle name. The first name. Judy the Hamster. Just to prove that we love mom the most.

gosh, i hope someday anna names a household rodent after me. not until then will i know she loves me.
That's okay, Rob. You can be the favorite until the hamster gets vacuumed up next week. We'll share!
You should know that naming a rodent after your Mom will not be considered an honor by her. You would do better to have another kid and name it S. Violet. That, she would say, would be a real honor.
I'm off to the fertility clinic right now to pick up some clomid...we're going to have twins and name them Ralph and Judy, or Judy and Judy, or Ralph and Joseph, and then Rob and I will be the favorites and we're not even blood...LOVE YOU JUDY!
We were going to name our son Roberto or Marshmallow. Now, I think he may be called Judy. See if anyone can beat that; he is due in 2 and a half weeks.
